BPS5-12 is a 12 V valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA) battery in the B.B. Battery BPS series, with a nominal capacity of 5 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 4.75 Ah at the 10-hour rate, and 4.25 Ah at the 5-hour rate. It weighs 1.8 kg. The standard terminal type is T1, and the optional terminal type is T2. The battery uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination. It is maintenance free (no water addition required), contains no free acid (leak-proof battery), and its low self-discharge rate supports long storage. It can be used in any orientation (inverted position not allowed). An explosion-proof filter fitted adds protection, and it offers up to 10 years of float service life, which suits long-term standby installations.
