BPS230-12 is a 12 V valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA) battery from the B.B. Battery BPS series, a general-purpose range for standby and cycling duty. It provides a nominal capacity of 230 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 218.5 Ah at the 10-hour rate and 195.5 Ah at the 5-hour rate, and weighs 72.5 kg. The standard terminal type is B9, and optional terminal type I3 is available as well. The battery applies absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination, is maintenance free (no water addition required), has no free acid (leak-proof battery) and offers a low self-discharge rate. It can be used in any orientation (inverted position not allowed), and explosion-proof filter fitted. Float service life reaches up to 10 years.
