The HR9-6 is a 6 V valve-regulated lead-acid battery from the B.B. Battery HR high rate series. It is designed to support high-rate discharge, so it performs well where power must be delivered quickly. Nominal capacity is 8 Ah at the 10-hour rate, and the 15-minute rate rated power is 36 W per cell, with a weight of 1.4 kg. A standard T2 terminal type is fitted, and T1 is available as an optional terminal type. Absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination supports internal gas handling, and the battery is maintenance free (no water replenishment required) with no free acid (leak-proof battery) construction. It can be installed in multiple orientations (do not install inverted), and a flame arrestor fitted for safety protects the unit. Power density at the 5-15 minute discharge rate is 30% higher than the BP series. Typical uses include electric bicycles and scooters, golf carts, telecommunications facilities, alternative energy systems, power supply networks and the energy industry, street lighting and traffic signals, electric vehicles, data centers, wheelchairs and floor cleaning equipment.
