Product details

HR5-5-12 belongs to the B.B. Battery HR high rate series of valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, supplied in 6 V or 12 V monobloc form with 96 to 1800 W per battery. The case is made of sturdy opaque impact-resistant ABS plastic, the lid is joined to the case, and the terminal area is sealed. During production the electrolyte is filled through six holes in the lid, after which a special pressure relief valve made of non-flammable material is fitted to control internal pressure and add fire and explosion safety. Both the positive and the negative plates receive a special paste coating. Under normal working conditions the expected service life reaches 10 years, and the batteries can be installed horizontally or vertically. The series suits low-power equipment, uninterruptible power supply systems, fire and security alarm systems, emergency lighting and monitoring systems, access control systems and medical equipment, and it also serves power supply networks, power industry facilities, telecommunications facilities, rural estates and electric vehicles. It delivers very high specific power in short discharge duty, so it suits backup times within 60 minutes; at a 15 minute discharge to 1.3 V per cell each battery supplies 96 to 1800 W. Capacity ranges from 4 Ah to 75 Ah, and under the Eurobat standard the series belongs to the long-life battery category. Figures such as C2, C5, C8, C10, C20 and C100 and ratings such as 15 minutes to 1.3 V/cell or 15 minutes to 1.6 V/cell vary by model. HR5-5-12 itself is maintenance free (no water replenishment required) throughout its service life, and the no free acid (leak-proof battery) construction lowers the risk of electrolyte leakage. It is designed to support high-rate discharge and uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination, which keeps the battery sealed and safe; power density at the 5-15 minute discharge rate is 30% higher than the BP series. The battery can be installed in multiple orientations (do not install inverted). Its nominal voltage is 12 V, its rated power is 22 W/cell at the 15 minute rate, its rated capacity is 5 Ah at the 10 hour rate and it weighs about 1.8 kg. T1 is the standard terminal type and T2 is an optional terminal type, and a flame arrestor fitted for safety completes the design.
