HR40-12StandardType belongs to the B.B. Battery HR high rate series of high-power valve-regulated lead-acid batteries. Batteries in this series are produced in 6-volt or 12-volt monobloc form, and the power of each battery covers 96 watts to 1800 watts, so the range can serve power demands of different sizes. The case is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic, the lid is firmly joined to the case and the terminal area is sealed to prevent electrolyte leakage. The six holes in the lid are filling ports used during production, and once filling is complete a dedicated pressure relief valve is fitted. That valve is made of non-flammable material and provides fire and explosion protection, which adds a further layer of safety to the design.
Both the positive and the negative plates are coated with a special paste, and together with absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination this produces a maintenance-free battery that needs no water addition throughout its service life. The no free acid design makes the model a truly leak-proof battery. Apart from an inverted position, the battery can be installed in various orientations and works steadily whether it is placed horizontally or vertically.
