BP8-6V is a VRLA battery from the B.B. Battery BP series with an overall voltage of 6 V and a nominal capacity of 8 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 7.6 Ah at the 10-hour rate and 6.8 Ah at the 5-hour rate. It weighs 1.55 kg, uses T1 as its standard terminal type and offers T2 as an optional terminal type. The battery uses an impact-resistant ABS case with a sealed terminal design. It is maintenance free (no topping up required) and leak-proof (no free electrolyte), with a low self-discharge, less than 3% per month, and supports vertical and horizontal installation. A flame arrestor integrated in each cell adds protection, and carrying handles for easier installation simplify handling. Applications include uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, security systems, emergency lighting and video surveillance systems, access control systems, medical equipment, communication facilities, alternative energy, power grids and the power industry, street lighting and traffic signals, and data centers.
