The B.B. Battery BP180-6 is a 6V valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery with a nominal capacity of 180Ah at the 20-hour rate, 171Ah at the 10-hour rate and 153Ah at the 5-hour rate. It weighs 28.8kg and uses the B9 standard terminal type, with I3 available as an optional terminal type. The battery is maintenance free (no topping up required) and leak-proof (no free electrolyte). Low self-discharge, less than 3% per month, keeps it ready for long standby duty, and it supports vertical and horizontal installation. A flame arrestor integrated in each cell and a built-in flame arrestor for added safety are part of the design, and carrying handles for easier installation are provided. The sealed construction and the low self-discharge behavior mean that the battery can be kept on standby for a long time and still deliver its rated capacity when it is needed.
