BP8-6 is a 6 V lead-acid battery from the B.B. Battery BP series. Its nominal capacity is 8 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 7.6 Ah at the 10-hour rate and 6.8 Ah at the 5-hour rate. This maintenance free (no topping up required) valve-regulated sealed battery is leak-proof (no free electrolyte) and needs no topping up, and it supports vertical and horizontal installation. It weighs 1.35 kg, its standard terminal type is T1 and its optional terminal type is T2. A low self-discharge, less than 3% per month, keeps the battery ready for long standby periods. It also features a flame arrestor integrated in each cell, a built-in flame arrestor for added safety and carrying handles for easier installation. The BP8-6 is used in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, security systems, emergency lighting and video surveillance systems, access control systems, medical equipment, communication facilities, alternative energy, power grids and the power industry, street lighting and traffic signals, and data centers.
