B.B. Battery BP8-12 is a 12 V valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery with a nominal capacity of 8 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 7.6 Ah at the 10-hour rate and 6.8 Ah at the 5-hour rate. The battery weighs 2.65 kg, the standard terminal type is T2 and the optional terminal type is T1. The product is maintenance free and requires no topping up, is leak-proof with no free electrolyte, offers low self-discharge of less than 3% per month, and supports vertical and horizontal installation. BP8-12 belongs to the BP series from B.B. Battery and uses valve-regulated sealed lead-acid technology. The series is offered in 4 V, 6 V and 12 V overall voltage ratings with capacities ranging from 1.0 Ah to 230 Ah. The battery case is made of sturdy, opaque, impact-resistant ABS plastic; the lid and case are firmly joined by a reliable process, and the terminal area is specially sealed to prevent electrolyte leakage and the entry of external contaminants. Terminal design differs according to the specific series and model so as to suit different connection needs. During production, electrolyte is injected through six dedicated filling holes in the battery lid, and a pressure relief valve made of non-combustible material is then installed in each hole, which precisely controls internal pressure and raises the level of fire and explosion safety. Both the positive and negative plates are coated with high-performance paste active material to optimize electrochemical reaction efficiency. BP8-12 supports both horizontal and vertical installation, and under normal working and maintenance conditions the series is designed for a service life of 8 to 10 years. Its nominal capacities depend on the discharge rate: 8 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 7.6 Ah at the 10-hour rate and 6.8 Ah at the 5-hour rate.
