BP4-5-12RT is a maintenance free (no topping up required) valve-regulated lead-acid battery from the B.B. Battery BP series. At the 20-hour rate its nominal capacity is 4.5 Ah, at the 10-hour rate it is 4.28 Ah and at the 5-hour rate it is 3.83 Ah. The battery weighs 1.78 kg and its standard terminal type is RT. It is leak-proof (no free electrolyte), so no free electrolyte can escape during service, and it supports vertical and horizontal installation. Low self-discharge, less than 3% per month, keeps the battery ready for standby duty. A flame arrestor integrated in each cell and a built-in flame arrestor for added safety raise the level of protection, and carrying handles for easier installation make the unit practical to handle. The BP4-5-12RT is used in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, security systems, emergency lighting and video surveillance systems, access control systems, medical equipment, communication facilities, alternative energy, power grids and the power industry, street lighting and traffic signals, and data centers.
