BP20-12 is a 12 V valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA) battery in the B.B. Battery BP series, with a nominal capacity of 20 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 19 Ah at the 10-hour rate, and 17 Ah at the 5-hour rate. It weighs 6.35 kg. The standard terminal type is B1, and the optional terminal types are T2 and I1. The battery is maintenance free (no topping up required) and leak-proof (no free electrolyte), with low self-discharge, less than 3% per month, so it holds its charge well during storage. It supports vertical and horizontal installation, has a flame arrestor integrated in each cell, is fitted with carrying handles for easier installation, and adds a built-in flame arrestor for added safety. Because it can be placed in either orientation, it fits equipment where space is limited. The BP20-12 is suitable for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, security systems, emergency lighting and video surveillance systems, access control systems, medical equipment, communication facilities, alternative energy, power grids and the power industry, street lighting and traffic signals, and data centers.
