The EP28-12 is a VRLA battery from the B.B. Battery EP series with a nominal voltage of 12 V, a nominal capacity of 28 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 23.8 Ah at the 5-hour rate and 14 Ah at the 30-minute rate, and a weight of 9.7 kg. It uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination, is maintenance free with no water addition required, and has no free acid as a leak-proof battery. The battery is designed for heavy-duty cyclic applications and can be installed in multiple orientations (do not install inverted). It is fitted with an explosion-proof filter and a flame arrestor for safety. The standard terminal type is B1, with optional terminal types T2 and I1. The case is made of tough, impact-resistant plastic with reinforcing ribs that preserve structural integrity under heavy-duty cycling.
