BC7-2-12 is a 12V maintenance-free valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery in the B.B. Battery BC deep cycle series. Its nominal capacity is 7.2Ah at the 20 hour rate and the battery weighs 2.2kg. T2 is the standard terminal type and T1 is available as an optional terminal type. The design is maintenance free (no water addition required) and has no free acid (leak-proof battery), so the sealed case needs no topping up and holds its electrolyte in normal service. It uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination, and a flame arrestor fitted for safety together with an explosion-proof filter fitted protects the battery if it develops an internal fault. Carrying handles for easier installation make the unit simpler to lift into position, and it can be installed in any orientation (inverted position not allowed). Typical applications include uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, security systems, emergency lighting and video surveillance systems, access control systems, medical equipment, communication facilities, alternative energy systems, power supply networks and the energy industry, street lighting and traffic signals and data processing centers.
