Product details

The BC160-12 is a high-performance valve-regulated lead-acid battery from the BC deep cycle series, produced as a 12 V monobloc with a nominal capacity of 160 Ah at the 20-hour rate and a weight of 45 kg. The case is made of opaque, impact-resistant ABS plastic, the cover is firmly joined to the case, and the terminal area is effectively sealed, giving good structural integrity and leak-proof performance. Six holes in the cover are used to fill the electrolyte during production, after which a dedicated pressure relief valve made of non-combustible material is fitted, improving fire and explosion safety. Both the positive and negative plates carry a paste coating, and absorbent glass mat technology provides efficient gas recombination, keeping the battery maintenance free with no water addition throughout its life. Carrying handles are provided for easier handling, and horizontal and vertical installation are both supported, but inverted installation is not allowed. The case and cover remain firmly joined throughout service, so acid cannot escape even if the battery is moved or re-positioned. The standard terminal type is B9 and the optional terminal type is I3. With its 160 Ah capacity at the 20-hour rate and its deep cycle construction, the battery is intended for duties that ask for sustained discharge over a long period rather than brief bursts of current. The BC160-12 suits low-power uninterruptible power supplies, fire and security alarm systems, emergency lighting, surveillance systems, access control and medical equipment, and is recommended in particular for applications needing 30 minutes or more of power backup. It also serves alternative energy systems, communication facilities, power supply networks and the energy industry, street lighting and traffic signals, and data processing centers, where dependable standby power matters. Under normal operating conditions, BC series batteries have an expected service life of 5 to 7 years.
