The BC42-12 is a 12 V valve-regulated sealed lead-acid battery from the B.B. Battery BC series with a capacity of 42 Ah at the 20-hour rate, and it weighs 12.2 kg. The standard terminal type is B2, with optional terminal types I1 and I2. The battery uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient gas recombination, is maintenance free with no water addition required, and has no free acid as a leak-proof battery. It can be installed in any orientation (inverted position not allowed) and is fitted with a flame arrestor, an explosion-proof filter and carrying handles for convenient installation. The case is made of tough, impact-resistant plastic, and the terminal area is sealed against leakage. Reinforcing ribs maintain the structural integrity of the case during handling and service. These characteristics make the battery suitable for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, security systems, emergency lighting and video surveillance systems, access control systems, medical equipment, communication facilities, alternative energy systems, power supply networks and the energy industry, street lighting and traffic signals, and data centers.
