The B.B. Battery EVP70-12 belongs to the EVP series of valve-regulated lead-acid batteries and is supplied as a 12 V monobloc unit. Its nominal capacity is 70 Ah at the 20-hour rate, 59.5 Ah at the 5-hour rate and 43.8 Ah at the 30-minute rate, so the battery can serve loads that draw different currents over different periods of time. The battery weighs 25 kg. The standard terminal type is B5, and an optional I2 terminal type is also available, which gives installers a choice of connection arrangements when the battery is built into a cabinet or a piece of equipment. Both terminal options are intended to make the connection between the battery and the equipment straightforward and secure. This model is designed for high-power, high-cycle use. AGM technology for efficient gas recombination is combined with a maintenance free (no water addition required) construction, so the battery does not need periodic water topping up during service. The electrolyte is fully absorbed inside the battery and there is no free acid (leak-proof battery), which helps reduce the risk of leakage and keeps the surrounding equipment cleaner. For safety, the battery comes with an explosion-proof filter fitted and a flame arrestor fitted for safety, both of which support safe operation under normal service conditions. Installation is flexible because the battery can be installed in multiple orientations, although it must not be installed inverted, so the mounting position has to be chosen with that limit in mind. The EVP70-12 is suitable for uninterruptible power supply, medical equipment, lawn mowers, electric bicycles and scooters, golf carts, communication facilities, data processing centers, electric vehicles, wheelchairs and floor cleaning equipment. In these applications it supplies steady power for high-power cycling duties, and its multiple-orientation installation option helps where equipment space is limited.
