HRL9-12 belongs to the B.B. Battery HRL series, which is positioned as a high power, long life line. The battery is a 12V monobloc maintenance free valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery whose case is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic, with the cover firmly joined to the case and the terminal area specially sealed to prevent electrolyte leakage and the entry of external contaminants. The cover carries a pressure relief valve made of non-combustible material that opens automatically to release gas if internal pressure rises abnormally, improving fire and explosion safety. Both the positive and the negative plates use a paste-coated process, which helps raise the utilization of the active material and the discharge performance. For installation, HRL9-12 supports both horizontal and vertical mounting (it must not be installed inverted), which eases the internal layout and integration of equipment. The battery uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology for efficient recombination of internal oxygen and hydrogen, making it truly maintenance free: the user neither needs nor is allowed to add water. There is also no free liquid electrolyte inside, so the risk of leakage is eliminated. The model is designed for high-rate discharge, and at discharge rates between 5 and 15 minutes its power density is about 30% higher than that of conventional BP series batteries, which suits standby power duties that call for short bursts of power.
